Our green approach to construction enables Grass Roots to pass on significant cost savings to clients. This means we can help you get considerably more from your sports budget than would otherwise be the case. And it’s soil that helps us do this!
Recreational improvement projects often need vast quantities of soil to be brought onto site, for example:
In many cases clubs and local authorities would normally incur huge costs in obtaining soil for their sports projects. However when constructing new sports facilities and pitches, Grass Roots normally re-uses clean, uncontaminated soils and sub-soils from our larger development sites. Recycling soil in this way has two important benefits:
Environmental: Recycling removes the need to transport soil often over long distances, for disposal in valuable landfill sites - taking up space that may be intended for contaminated and municipal waste. Our recycled materials are always sourced as close as possible to our project sites.
Financial: Recycling minimises soil transport and disposal costs as well as environmental impact. This recycling results in cost savings for us and our partner companies. These savings allow us to provide new or additional high quality pitches at no cost to clubs and where possible extra ancillary facilities. For example high spec drainage systems, floodlights, changing rooms, dug outs, goal posts and kit.
